February 2026 Round Up – Rain and more rain, but with a hint of Spring!
After an encouraging January, we entered February with high hopes for even better times. However, in the first weeks of the month, the endless rain (and cold) seemed to dampen enthusiasm and spirits. Everyone we encountered seemed to be totally fed up, looked miserable and lacked enthusiasm! Isn’t it amazing what a glimmer of sunshine can do? The odd bright day here and there since, plus some blossom on the trees and a hint of spring to come, helped tremendously. The results, thankfully due to a terrific effort by the team and their boundless enthusiasm, meant that we ended up having a ‘good month’ with some 15 sales agreed, 10 exchanges and 8 completions for some happy buyers and sellers.
National statistics and the press state that mortgage approvals are at their highest for years. First time buyers are buying in Bristol again, thus releasing new buyers into the market place who often look to settle in our neck of the woods for the schooling and village life, with the easy enough commute back to the workplace. We love the Bristolians and they do like living here!
